As I grew up in England, I remember the seaside - we could get on the train and in 10 minutes, we were at the beautiful beach. 'The Punch & Judy Show' was always there - they were a puppet show; they did all kinds of tricks and talked to each other. Children flocked around it and they were very popular. There were all kinds of places where you could eat - they had more less the same things they have here, like ice cream places; I always enjoyed getting an ice cream bar with my girl friends.
My husband was a carpenter. I met him in a church choir - a good place to meet.
I sang soprano and he sang base. My husband was a good-hearted man. He was also a very hard worker - he built me three new houses all by himself in his spare time. I used to bowl; that's what I really enjoyed until I broke my hip. I bowled for quite a few years with a legion team. I competed and won many trophies. I've kept only one trophy now, but it's the most memorable one because it was almost the perfect game! I struck until the last bowl; I hit
them all down!
I wouldn't want to be without Peel Senior Link. They do things I can't do - like vacuuming and cleaning. They also come in to check on me three times a day. This makes you feel good. My friend fell and couldn't get up and she was rescued by Peel Senior Link. It hasn't happened to me, but knowing that they come in everyday to check on me, I feel secure.
