Raymond Applebaum

Raymond Applebaum graduated from the Ryerson School of Social Work. Raymond has worked in the Health & Community Support Service sector for over 40 years, primarily with seniors and persons with a physical disability. Prior to serving in his current role as CEO with Peel Senior Link since 1998, Raymond was a business owner of an independent consulting firm, and managed several local, provincial and national non-profit charitable organizations in the development and delivery of human services. Raymond was a Gerontology Professor with Humber College, and taught at Seneca College, and serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, Health Promotion & Policy. He has won several awards over the years including the OCSA 25th Anniversary Leadership Award, Canadian Healthcare Association, 2008 Award for Distinguished Service; 3M Health Quality Team Award 2011; and Ontario Minister’s Medal Honouring Excellence in Health Quality & Safety 2013, for the Supports for Daily Living Program.  Raymond continues his career developing effective partnerships and integrated care services, innovative programs, system enhancements, and collaborates to best serve the needs of the community.

Raymond lives in Kitchener with his wife. He enjoys playing golf, travelling, reading and spending time with family. He has 5 children, and 13 grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 25 years.

Sean Weylie

Sean has 30 years’ experience working in the healthcare field both in the for profit and not-for-profit sectors.  He has also worked at the former MH LHIN and CW LHIN as the Quality Improvement Specialist helping them to establish effective processes and programs in community care within the region. (BSO, Caregiver Recharge, Regional Learning Center, CW Community Wound Care Program)

He is a trained Improvement Facilitator through Health Quality Ontario and holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Quality Improvement.  He has also completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on organizational change.

On a personal note, he lives in Acton with his wife of 32 years, has two boys in their 20s and two dogs.  He enjoys curling, hockey and golf.  He also enjoys summer days riding his motorcycle.

 

Aisha Mian

Aisha Mian is a University of Waterloo graduate from the School of Public Health and Health Systems. Aisha has served a number of placements in different healthcare-based environments including public health, health informatics, and national not-for-profit organizations. In past experiences, Aisha has focused on health promotion, disease prevention, increasing education and awareness of social determinants of health and key initiatives, as well as research and data analytics. She is passionate about utilizing community resources to improve the quality of our daily lives.

Aisha has been living in Mississauga since 2005. She finds enjoyment in hot yoga, Zumba, and anything with dark chocolate. Aisha values quality time with family and friends, loves to travel and visit her sisters in Montreal and Dubai.

Charlene Hendry

Charlene joined PSL in 2011, bringing over 15+ years in administrative and office experience. Prior to this role, she was the Office Manager for the Linux Professional Institute. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of office management and administering of Linux exams.

 Charlene fell in love with nonprofits when she was working as a Computer Instructor for over 10 years.  Seeing how ones’ efforts can positively affect people in need, she quickly developed a passion for working with mission driven organizations and working directly with people in diverse cultural settings. Charlene is very enthusiastic about continuing her nonprofit journey with Peel Senior Link.

 Charlene has her diploma is Business Data Management and is a Certified Microsoft Office User Instructor.  Her varied career includes career transition counseling; business development; training program management, development and delivery; the management of multi-functional work teams; event coordination and client service.

 Charlene is married with two children, and 6 grandchildren. In her free time, Charlene indulges herself with her grandchildren, enjoys reading, music, going to the cottage and spending time with family and friends.

Yasmin Farouk

Yasmin Farouk brings extensive and diverse experience and knowledge of non-profits and administrative support to the Peel Senior Link team. She is proud to be able to serve her community and help others alongside the PSL team. Before joining PSL, Yasmin served as Operations Manager, Executive Assistant and Secretary to the Board of Directors for the Mississauga Arts Council for over six years.

Yasmin has a lifelong love of learning and an inherent curiosity. Prior to entering the world of non-profits, she translated this passion into a career in research. After graduating from Ryerson University, she worked at the National Library of Guyana and at the University of Guyana. From there, she joined other library teams, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), where her passion for helping the injured grew. She then spent 16 years as an Information Research Specialist at Mercer HR Consulting where she honed her knowledge of human resources, pension plans, health and benefits.

Yasmin lives in Mississauga with her family. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her garden and flowers, reading, interior design and trying new dishes and restaurants.

Zoha Shah

Zoha Shah joined Peel Senior Link in April 2023 after completing her Honours Bachelors in Neuroscience and public policy from University of Toronto. During her undergraduate years she developed interest in neurological diseases and was motivated to work with aging seniors. Her past experiences focus on research, critical appraisal of evidence and accurate interpretation of data in the field of aging and dementia disease. Her experiences led her to work as a recreation therapy assistant Acclaim Health for dementia patients along with other roles within the healthcare system.

 

Zoha has also worked as emergency responder with Red Cross Canada aiding to work under intense stress and work closely with people going through trauma. While she continued to work with several non-profit organisations during her undergraduate years, Zoha also gained writing experience by evaluating research, communicating disease and prevention information in a journalistic format by working closely with Antarctic Institute of Canada and University of Toronto Press.

 

Zoha is admired for her empathetic personality and her love for her family. She loves to stay organised and always finds new ways to make her surroundings more appealing. She also loves nature walks, yoga, swimming and traveling.

Anna Donson

Anna Donson joined Peel Senior Link in March 2017 after completing her Office Administration student internship. She holds a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Social Work with a focus in gerontology and has past work experience in this field both in the hospital and community. After taking a break from Social Work to be a full-time mom, Anna began her career journey anew, working with seniors as a Program Worker at an Adult Day Program, finding the interaction and relationship building with clients extremely rewarding. She brings to this position a knowledge of the challenges faced by the clients served by PSL and a passion for engaging and working with the talented staff who provide such invaluable service to them.

She loves outings with her family and friends, enjoys reading in her spare time and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and skiing. She also hopes to continue her family travels, having recently visited her native Poland with her husband and two daughters.

Dele Odekhiran-Ajayi

Bamidele Odekhiran-Ajayi also known as Dele has been a staff with PSL since 2011.  She started as a front-line Personal Support Worker and with her knowledge in computer science and mathematics, has taken on the role of a Scheduler Officer which she enjoys very much.

Dele is a mother of four.  She enjoys taking vacations with her family when they can.  She finds time in her busy life to make sure work life and family life is balanced.

Taylor Wilson

Taylor Wilson is a dedicated new graduate nurse from Seneca College, equipped with a certificate in Personal Support Work. With hands-on experience in various inpatient units at Mississauga Hospital and the emergency department at Brampton Civic Hospital, Taylor has developed a strong foundation in patient care.

Passionate about improving quality of life, Taylor aspires to become a Nurse Practitioner, focusing on gerontology. She also has experience in leadership,  Training and developing PSW’S In the community and hospitals which adds a distinct perspective to her healthcare approach.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Taylor is a proud mother to a young daughter. She is excited to embark on her healthcare career and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
