Rajinder Gupta was born in Karnal, Haryana, India, and has lived a life rooted in education, discipline, and service. After earning a master’s degree in mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi, along with diplomas in French and German, he began his career as a senior professor and later became Principal of Maharaj Post Graduate College in Jagadhri, Haryana.
There, he transformed the college’s reputation by leading with structure, discipline, and respect: arriving an hour earlier than staff each day. He believes that “doing your work with dedication, while being polite and firm,” is the key to success.
Rajinder also served internationally as Head of Mathematics and a member of the academic board at the University of EPDRY in Yemen, where he continued to uphold his values of leadership, organization, and respect, believing in counselling and understanding over strict action.
Today, he carries these values into daily life and shares a simple message: “Be dedicated, be polite, and be firm.”
Maintaining Independence and Dignity with Peel Senior Link
Rajinder was introduced to Peel Senior Link through the CCAC, and since then, his experience has been nothing but positive. He speaks highly of the entire team, appreciating the consistency and care provided at all levels from Personal Support Workers to supervisors and managers.
For Rajinder, “aging at home with dignity” means having peace of mind, comfort, and the ability to live independently. He feels that Peel Senior Link has made this possible for him and his family.
A time that was particularly meaningful to him was when Rajinder needed to be hospitalized, leaving his wife—who is also a PSL client and uses a wheelchair—alone at home. During this period, the support provided by Peel Senior Link was, in his words, “remarkable.” Knowing that his wife was being cared for gave him immense relief and reassurance.
A Meaningful Connection with PSL Staff
He describes his connection with Peel Senior Link as a source of comfort and independence. The coordinated efforts of the entire team ensure that clients feel supported, respected, and cared for at all times.
Rajinder expresses deep appreciation for the organization, saying that Peel Senior Link’s contributions to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those in need are truly commendable. He believes their work allows people to live with dignity, even as they age.
When asked if there is anything more PSL could do, Rajinder simply shared that he is fully satisfied with the support he receives. “There is no end to satisfaction,” he told us with a smile. “We simply say ‘Hi’ to PSL.”
